PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasification apparatus which is hard to cause the trouble of handling particles in separating the particles from a combustible gas, does not reduce the efficiency of the entire system, and does not deposit a liquid substance. SOLUTION: The gasification apparatus has a gasification chamber 2 for gasifying a coal in a fluidized bed by a fluid medium, a char combustion chamber 3 for combusting a char to be produced in the gasification chamber to heat the fluid medium, a separation device 31 provided in the gasification chamber to separate a gasified gas b from particles c in the gas, and a gas supply opening 36 for supplying the gas from which the particles have been separated to a power generation gas turbine 55, the gasification chamber and the char combustion chamber being integrally constituted and separated by a first partition wall 15 so as not to cause the gas flowing in the upper portion of each fluidized bed, a first opening 25 being provided at the lower portion of the first partition wall to move the heated fluid medium from the char chamber to the gasificatioon chamber through the first opening, and the separation device having a particle discharge pipe 33 whose discharge opening 34 is open to the char combustion chamber.
