The invention relates to a treatment system which has been developed for discolouring clarified refinery liquor in the sugar cane industry and which can be used to obtain discoloration values greater than 90 %. According to the invention, the liquor is passed through a system involving several agitation reactors which operate continuously with determined flows of gaseous ozone and clarified liquor and at a controlled temperature and pH. For given conditions in terms of ozone concentration at the inlet, between 25 and 120 mg/L, and contact time in each reactor, the aforementioned system is performed so as to obtain the applied dose required to produce high discoloration values irrespective of the initial colour of the original liquor. Analyses of the main components of the liquor have shown that there is no variation in the concentration of said components. Similarly, toxicological analyses of the liquor discoloured using ozone have been performed and the results from same demonstrate the innocuousness of said ozone in the inventive system. |
