SYSTEM FOR COLLABORATIVE WEB BROWSING USING IRC PROTOCOL AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A system for a collaborative web browsing using an IRC protocol and a method thereof are provided to collaborative link a web page among web browsers operated in many remote user terminals. CONSTITUTION: A client 'A' opens a common browsing session in an IRC server(S501). A client 'B' participates in a session opened by the client 'A' out of opened sessions(S502). If the client 'A' surfs a web server and requests a web document(S503), a control message corresponded to an event with respect to the web document request is transmitted to the IRC server(S505). The web server supplies the requested web document for the client 'A'. The IRC server transmits the control message corresponded to the web document request transmitted to the client 'A' to the client 'B'(S507). The client 'B' requests a web document identical with the web document requested by the client 'A' in accordance with the received control message(S509). In the case that the client 'A' scrolls a web page, that is, a scroll event is generated(S510), a control message with respect to a generated scroll event is transmitted to the IRC server(S511). The IRC server transmits the control message with respect to the scroll generation event being transmitted from the client 'A' to the client 'B'(S512). The client 'A' is synchronized with the client 'A', and a scroll of the web page is generated(S513).
