PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair designed not to exert a burden to the helper's waist by enabling the helper to approach a person needing care and to hold the person needing care in her or his arms when moving the person on the wheelchair from the wheelchair. SOLUTION: A portion or the whole of a leg rest which is a belt piece to be spanned between leg pipes extending forward or slightly diagonally from both sides of a seat to be sit on with the person needing care on the wheelchair is formed of an elastic body, such as rubber, having stretchability, so as to easily stretch when the helper steps in.
