PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit corrosion caused by water, which occurs on a non-passivated metal body such as a heat exchanger tube of a boiler. SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting corrosion includes a process of adjusting the quality of the water affecting the non-passivated metal body such as the heat exchanger tube of the boiler so as to have at least 2.5 of an index indicated in the equation (1): the index = acid consumption amount (pH 4.8) (mg CaCO3/L)/electroconductivity (mS/m)...(1).
