PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a delayed breakdown when sealing an exhaust pipe of a display panel by using an electric heater. SOLUTION: A sealing shape of an exhaust tube of the display panel relating to this invention is characterized in being not notched in the sealing part from the surface toward the inside. An electric heater 5 is arranged in the neighborhood of the predetermined sealing point of the glass-made exhaust tube 2, and heats the exhaust tube (a). Since the inside of the display panel 1 and the exhaust pipe 2 is decompressed by an exhaust process, the glass softened and fused by heating is drawn into the exhaust tube 2, and chokes the exhaust tube 2 (b-d). In that case, the dimensions of the exhaust tube 2, a height of the glass puddle 11, and the shape of the fused part 13 are adjusted so that the notch is not formed, which is caused by it that the glass is excessively drawn into the exhaust tube 2 on the surface of the sealing part.
