The present invention relates to a photo-detector device and the fabrication method thereof, especially to a photo-detector device using the planar light emitting diode as the light emitter, wherein the photo-emitter is directly fixed on the front surface of the envelop in which a photo-receiver is wrapped by using the characteristic that both of the positive and negative electrodes of the planar light emitting diode are located on the same plane, and its fixed position is located at the longitudinal extension position of the photo-receiver. When the light emitter emits light, the light emitted from its light source on the back can transmit through the substrate and the envelop and is absorbed directly by the front face of the photo-receiver, thereby executing the functions set afterwards. Therefore, it not only can avoid the disadvantage in that the connecting wires may be contacted mutually by mistake and be damaged, but also can increase the effective light receiving area of the photo-receiver to execute its function rapidly and correctly.
