摘要 A control apparatus for an automotive vehicle having an automatic transmission and an engine capable of controlling a resistance to its rotary motion. The control apparatus is adapted to change an output torque of the engine temporarily during a shifting action of the automatic transmission. The control apparatus includes inertia-phase torque changing means for changing an inertia torque of the engine during the shifting action, by controlling the resistance of the rotary motion of the engine. This inertia-phase torque changing means may be adapted to change the inertia torque during a switching of an operating state of a lock-up clutch which is provided in a fluid-operated power transmitting device interposed between the automatic transmission and the engine.
