PURPOSE: A short message transfer method using a tag is provided to emphasize an important portion of an advertisement or an SMS(Short Message Service) message by presenting diverse effects(a color, a blink or a bold) to a text of the SMS by using a text tag. CONSTITUTION: When an SMS message is received, a controller of the receiving terminal analyzes a character string of the SMS message to check whether a tag has been used(S10-S12). If the tag has been used, the controller gives a text effect to the SMS message and displays it in a display unit(S13). When a user of the receiving terminal depresses a storage key, the controller checks whether a PIM(Personal Information Manager) tag is included in the SMS message(S14,S15). If the PIM tag is included, information inserted in the PIM is automatically stored by tag contents in a phone book(S16).
