PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to improve brightness and show high contrast in respective reflection and transmission modes by improving light use efficiency with dividing the light reflection region and the light transmission region, and to prevent light diffusion by optimizing cell gaps and the light compensation film. CONSTITUTION: An LCD device comprises a common substrate(1) formed by successively laminating a stripe-shaped transparent electrode group(3) and an alignment layer(10) on a transparent substrate; a segment substrate(2) formed by forming a stripe-shaped laminated electrode group formed by arranging a laminated body of a transparent conductive layer and a light reflection layer in a stripe shape on the substrate, and laminating the alignment layer on the stripe-shaped laminated electrode group to each other via the super twisted nematic liquid crystal to arrange pixels in a matrix shape; and a light transmission part having no light reflection metal layer at every pixel in the stripe-shaped laminated electrode. The orientation film is formed on the light reflection metal layer and the strip-shaped transparent electrode group. The mask shape of the photolithography is simplified by forming the slit-type light transmission part.
