PURPOSE:To display pieces of information corresponding to an operation command and the state of respective parts to an operator, by storing a coded document in a memory. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine 1 has a dot matrix display part 2 consisting of light emitting diodes at its console. The signal of the temperature sensor of a fixing device is processed by a CPU35 through an input interface 31 to send the indication that copying operation is ready to a document display part 4. A CPU45 receives this signal from a copying machine control part 3 to read a document code for ''Copying is ready'' out of an ROM43 and displays the document on the display 2 through a character generator 48. When a self-diagnostic switch 41 is pressed, an addition check on the ROM and a write/read check on an RAM are made to check whether a document display part 4 has a fault or not, displaying ''Check OK'' or ''Check NG''. |
