Filter with easily secured filter element

A filter has a two-part housing, which has inlet and outlet openings (7, 8) in different housing parts (2, 3) and which contains a filter element (5) with a similar contour to the housing in the joint plane, a filter element clamping device provided in the joint region. The novelty is that the clamping device consists of spaced studs distributed over the entire joint face (9) of at least one of the housing parts and which tightly clamp the filter element (5) on assembly. Pref. the filter element (5) consists of a nonwoven fabric disc, while the housing parts (2, 3) are made of plastic and are friction welded or ultrasonically welded at their joint faces (10). Also claimed are similar filters, including woven screen filter elements, and processes for their prodn. Pref. the housing parts and/or a support body for the woven screen filter element are made of glass-reinforced polyamide and the woven screen is made of polyester or polyamide.
