PURPOSE: A DECT(Digital European Cordless Telephone) is provided to execute an automatic response function by composing an automatic response machine. CONSTITUTION: A speech IC unit(2) interfaces a communication signal inputted through a wire(1), and processes the transmission of an automatic response signal and a wired communication signal. A switching unit(3) connects to the speech IC unit(2), and executes a mode switching function. A CPU(4) controls the switching unit(3) for controlling a wired telephone mode, an automatic response mode, and a DECT transmitting and receiving mode. An automatic response machine unit(5) connects to the switching unit(3), and executes an automatic response function according to an automatic response mode control signal of the CPU(4). A wired telephone unit(6) connects to the switching unit(3), and executes the wired telephone mode according to a wired telephone mode control signal of the CPU(4). A DECT transmitting and receiving unit(7) connects to the switching unit(3), and executes a DECT transmitting and receiving function according to a DECT transmitting and receiving mode control signal of the CPU(4).
