PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make sure to seal discharge gas into a panel 31 while it is heated and evacuated in extremely short time without having an exhaust tube bent, in an evacuation system of a plasma display panel in which discharge gas is filled after the panel 31 is evacuated. SOLUTION: A cartridge 3, provided for arraying in slanted erection a plurality of panels 31 with an exhaust tube 19, is carried into the inside of a chamber 2 of a furnace body 1, whose air blowing channel 4 is supplied with outer air and heated, and the inside of the panels 31 are evacuated while they are exposed to the air heated with a circulating fan.
