PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press apparatus for a web designed to prevent occurrence of trouble due to seizure of both ends of a roll cell and suitably perform a pressing treatment of the web in the press apparatus, etc., for the web capable of pressurizing the web and draining the web in a press part, etc., of a paper machine. SOLUTION: This press apparatus is used to superimpose a press roll through a felt on a shoe module and form a pressurizing nip. The press apparatus is obtained by adopting a pressurizing structure for pressurizing pressure shoes arranged on the side of both ends under a lower pressure than that of the shoes on the central side in the plurality of pressure shoes arranged on a line parallel to the shaft in the interior of the roll cell. The contact force of the pressure shoes on the side of ends with the roll cell is reduced from that of the shoes arranged on the central side to suppress a reduction of oil films on the surfaces or the pressure shoes and ensure the lubricity. Thereby, phenomena of galling, seizing, etc., are prevented from occurring in the sites.
