Interferometer and its use

Interferometer has reference and measurement light beam paths, a unit for superposition of the beams and a device for measurement of interference effects. The spatial resolution of the device for measurement of interference effects (1022) is matched to a characteristic frequency of the interference effects. Two or more reference beam paths are provided to increase the measurement depth range. The invention also relates to a corresponding operation microscope and a method for the interferometric determination of the movement speed of a medium, such as blood in a capillary.
