Folding roof, especially for a wheelchair, or a shopping or golf trolley, comprises a cover (7) arranged between two folding support devices (2) positioned a distance apart in the region of a back rest of a seat. Each support device has two holding bars (10, 11) extending upward over the back rest when the folding roof is folded out. The holding bars are pivotally mounted and open into an articulated parallelogram (14) connected to extension bars (25, 26) protruding over the seat.
