PURPOSE: An inscribed umbrella and a method of using the same are provided to avoid rainwater from running down to the outside and an umbrella fabric smeared with rainwater from contacting those around a user without using any particular vinyl case. CONSTITUTION: The inscribed umbrella is folded or unfolded in a direction opposite to that of a typical umbrella so that an umbrella fabric smeared with rainwater is not exposed to the outside in case of rain and is put in an outer case for storing it and carrying it with. The inscribed umbrella comprises: an outer case; a lower umbrella base(6); an upper umbrella base(7); an operating unit(14); umbrella ribs(26); and backing ribs(29).
