PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling a sunroof, capable of preventing an erroneous reversal or an increase in a pinching load, by preventing the erroneous reversal or the like of the sunroof occurring as a result of misjudgment as pinching when the rotational speed of the motor is changed by a shade or the like, and by detecting pinching with high accuracy irrespective of such properties as deformability of a thing that is pinched. SOLUTION: In detecting pinching by the sunroof lid, a plurality of rotational speed differences for different comparison times are calculated, and a number of sets of threshold value data corresponding to the same number of the rotational speed difference data are prepared. Determination as to whether pinching has occurred or not is made according to the elapsed time since the motor has started rotating or the moved distance of the sunroof lid after the starting, by determining whether a calculated rotational speed difference is larger or not than the corresponding threshold that decreases with the increase in the elapsed time or in the moved distance. |
