PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device having a novel structure capable of being compactly realized as a whole inclusive of an oil pressure pump for supplying and discharging operation oil while ensuring sufficiently large mold clamping force by a hydraulic cylinder mechanism for mold clamping. SOLUTION: A booster cylinder 104 is supported on a device base 10 directly or indirectly through a fixing plate 12 or the like and a pair of booster pistons 108 and 108 are fitted in the booster cylinder 104 on both sides in the axial direction thereof in a slidable manner. Eccentric plate cams 126 and cam driving motors 138 for pressing and driving the respective booster pistons 108 from the outside are provided to drive the booster pistons 108 through the cam driving motors 138 and the eccentric plate cams 126. By this constitution, the oil pressure generated in the booster cylinder 104 is guided to the mold clamping hydraulic cylinder mechanism 28 to perform mold clamping operation.
