Continuous casting mold comprises independently moving mold parts (1, 2) which separate in the casting direction. At least the upper mold part (1) is connected to devices for producing periodic oscillations. Preferred Features: Each mold part has wide side plates (3, 3') and narrow side plates (4, 4') which each form a mold-producing hollow chamber (5, 6) having different heights. The wide side plates of each part of the mold are formed in the usual manner with a cooling water system, a common cooling water cycle or a separate cooling water cycle. The hollow chamber of each part of the mold is formed by coolable mold plates made from copper and/or a copper alloy, e.g. copper nickel beryllium (CuNiBe).
