STEM CELLS ORIGINATING IN SALIVARY DUET EPITHELIAL CELLS AND USE THEREOF

Stem cells capable of differentiating into liver cells, pancreatic cells and salivary duet cells. When cultured in vitro, these stem cells, which originate in salivary duet epithelial cells, can differentiate into &agr;−fetoprotein positive cells, albumin positive cells, amylase positive cells, insulin positive cells and glucagon positive cells. Transplantation of the stem cells enables the regeneration of organs such as liver.
