COLUMN PACKING AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column packing superior in durability and few effects of residual silanol groups and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The column packing comprises a silica gel with silanol groups, first chemical modified groups to be combined with the silanol groups, a silicone polymer covering the surfaces of the silica gel, and trimethylsilyl groups to be combined with the silanol groups on the silicone polymer and/or with the silanol groups on the silica gel. The column packing preferably comprises second chemically modified groups to be combined with residual hydrosilyl groups on the silicone polymer.
