PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot water storage-type water heater which heats all of hot water in the hot water storage tank at an approximately uniform high temperature without lowering a coefficient of performance of the operation of a heat pump-type heat collector unit, and effectively utilizes the hot water in the hot water storage tank. SOLUTION: This hot water storage-type water heater comprises the heat pump-type heat collector unit having a compressor 7, a condenser 6, an evaporator 9 and the like, and circulating the refrigerant. A circulation pipe 20 is mounted for heating the water located at a lower part of the hot water storage tank and circulated by a circulation pump 5, by heat exchange with the condenser 6, supplying the heated hot water from an upper part of the hot water storage tank 1, and layering and storing the hot water from the upper part of the hot water storing tank 1 to boil the whole water in the hot water storage tank. A hot water mixture layer is formed at a lower part of the hot water storage tank 1 at the end of the boiling of the whole water in the hot water storage tank 1. The water in the hot water storage tank 1 is heated to a temperature slightly higher than the set temperature, the operation of the heat pump-type heat collector 4 is stopped, when the water temperature of the hot water mixture layer introduced to the circulating pipe 20 from the lower part of the hot water storage tank 1 is raised higher than a defined value, and a heat pump coming water temperature detecting sensor or a hot water temperature detecting sensor detects the same, and only the circulating pump 5 is operated, so that the hot water of the hot water mixture layer is supplied from the upper part of the hot water storage tank 1 to be mixed, and the water in the hot water storage tank 1 is totally heated to the set temperature. |
