RAPIDLY CAST ALLOY STRIP HAVING DISSIMILAR PORTIONS

A cast composite strip of metallurgically alloy bonded metal is made by delivering one stream of molten metal from a nozzle onto a surface moving at 200-10,000ft/min. and at least one other stream of another molten metal so that one peripheral edge contacts the edge of the adjacent dissimilar metal. Also claimed is appts. which has a continuous advancing casting surface and at least two crucibles with nozzles, within 0.120 inch of the casting surface. The crucibles are on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis to the casting surface in the direction of the casting.
