PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deterioration-preventing agent for a perfume-containing product which exhibits excellent quality-retention effects for a perfume- containing product and yet is friendly to the environment and the humankind, and to provide a deterioration-preventing agent for a perfume-containing product which exhibits excellent deterioration-preventing effects for a perfume added to or incorporated into various products. SOLUTION: Sterols having a skeleton represented by formula 1 are employed as an effective component of a deterioration-preventing agent for a perfume added to or incorporated into various products, and the deterioration-preventing agent for a perfume-containing product is added to or incorporated into a perfume-containing product. Among compounds of formula 1, those having the skeleton and 27-30 carbon atoms are preferable.
