PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable stand gear for a sofa or a bed having a stand for placing a notebook computer, etc., or documents, where the stand is allowed to move in a most appropriate position for use or in a no-obstacle position, while a user sits on the sofa or the bed in relaxation. SOLUTION: Guide rails 4 are provided on horizontal beams 8 provided on the back and the front of a base 2. An operation lever 18 is provided on a front end of a support body 5. An operation rod 19 is disposed inside the support body 5 so as to be movable back and forth. A front end of the operation rod 19 is pivotally provided on a movable part of the operation lever 18. Upper end pads 21 of stopper members 20 penetrating through from the support body 5 upward and elastically energized upward come, under pressure, into contact with an under surface of the horizontal beam 8 or that of a contact member 22 provided along the horizontal beam 8. When the operation rod 19 is shifted in either of a back or a forth direction by an operation of the operation lever 18, slant edges 23 provided on the operation rod 19 slide to come into contact with sliding parts 24 provided on the stopper members 20, and the stopper members 20 moving downward make the upper end pads separate from the under surface of the horizontal beam 8 and that of the contact member 22.
