PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite semipermeable membrane which has selective separability at a practicable use level and is excellent in both of an oxidizing agent resistance and water permeability. SOLUTION: This composite semipermeable membrane consisting of a thin film and a porous supporting membrane supporting the same contains a polymer obtained by a condensation reaction with a multifunctional acid halide using a diamine component having diethylene groups among aromatic rings or a crosslinking reaction of the diethylene groups with each other.
