PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face plate for punching which can be easily punched and reduce the cost, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The face plate 10 which is used in a punching machine to punch a sheet by using a cutting blade and a punching die with a fixed rule, forms a rule on the sheet, and forms a receiving face facing the punching die is formed of a steel plate 11, and a part 12 corresponding to the cutting blade is surface- modified by the shot blasting.
