PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the number of subfields by improving a structure of the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel(62) is formed with main discharge cells(60) of mxn number at an intersection portion between two address electrodes of scan electrodes(Y1 to Ym), common sustain electrodes(Z), and address electrodes(XA1 to XAn, XB1 to XBn). A scan/sustain driving portion(66) drives the scan electrodes(Y1 to Ym). A common sustain driving portion(68) drives the common sustain electrodes(Z). A data driving portion(64) supplies the video data to the address electrodes(XA1 to XAn, XB1 to XBn). The main discharge cells(60) share a sustain electrode(Y) and the common sustain electrode(Z) and include two sub discharge cells(40A,40B). |
