The block-shaped building component has an outer contour determined by an under side, an upper side and four side edges connecting to each other. The first side edge is provided with a first groove extending completely along it and preferably the part of the groove located in the building component is limited by a plastic material. The upper side has a horizontally running part and the building component has a third side edge opposite the first side edge. The building component on the upper side by the third side edge runs obliquely (alpha) to the horizontal part of the upper side. In the upper side drainage channels are formed which with one end connect with the obliquely running part and with the other end issue on the first side edge.
