PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode material for a secondary battery by a plating method. SOLUTION: This electrode material for a secondary battery is made by forming tin-or a tin alloy-plated film deposited from a tin or tin alloy plating bath on one or both surfaces of a collector. The electrode material for a secondary battery is characterized in that plated particles having the average diameter of 0.5 μm or less form a substantially continuous film in the plated film, and the plated film is formed of a material deposited from tin or tin alloy plating bath and contains at least the following as essential constituents (i)-(v): (i) 5-200 g/L of bivalent tin ions, (ii) one or more kinds of acids or complexing agents forming water-soluble salt or complex with tin ions stoichiometrically equivalent to or more than the bivalent tin ions in total, (iii) one or more kinds of antioxidants having concentration of at least 1 ppm in total, (iv) 0.5-200 g/L of one or more kinds of 6C or less aliphatic ketone, or 6C or less aliphatic branch or non-branch alcohol, and (v) one or more kinds of organic additives. |
