The invention relates to a method of performing a secure transaction between a mobile telephone which is equipped with a subscriber identification module (SIM card) and an application server. The inventive method is characterised in that it comprises: a step involving the secure exchange of public keys between the server and the subscriber, the saving by the subscriber of the server's public key, Ks_pub, and the saving on the server of the subscriber's public key, Ku_pub; a step whereby downloadable applications are purchased, said step consisting in preparing a digital request file on the mobile equipment and transmitting said file, in the form of a message, along with an encrypted condensate to the server; a step involving the transmission of the order by the server to the subscriber in the form of a signed digital file and a condensate for said file; and a step whereby a downloadable application [MIDLET] comprising one encoded part is transmitted by the server to the subscriber.
