The invention relates to a guide device (3) which is used in an offshore drilling installation in which at least one drilling riser (2) extends from a floating support (1) to the guide device (3) on the seabed. The inventive guide device (3) is characterised in that it comprises a sunken guide pipe (3) which comprises, successively: a front end which rests horizontally on the seabed; a curved, intermediary portion of guide pipe which is sunk into the seabed subsoil with a large radius of curvature, preferably a radius greater than 500 m; and, better still, an essentially-linear, inclined rear portion at the rear end of said guide pipe (3) which is sunk into the seabed subsoil along a given inclination ( alpha ) of between 5 and 60 DEG . Said guide pipe (3) co-operates with controlled driving means (3 4).
