PURPOSE: A box of a water meter with an improved coupling method of a cover is provided to prevent the separation of a cover and the damage of a cover caused by direct load. CONSTITUTION: The box of a water meter with an improved coupling method of a cover contains a backing end projection(1) formed on the top of a projected border of a box of a water meter, an incline(4) formed on the corresponding outside to the box of a water meter provided with the backing end projection(1), a fitting projection(2) formed on the inside of a cover and fixed to the inside of the box of a water meter, and a packing(3) attached to the outside of the fitting projection(2) of the cover.
