METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACTIVE CARBON FIBER FOR FLUE GAS DESULFURIZATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an active carbon fiber for flue gas desulfurization having high desulfurization performances even in the coexistence of NO gas, and the active carbon fiber for the flue gas desulfurization. SOLUTION: This method for producing the active carbon fiber comprises an activating step of activating a carbon fiber at >=930 and <=1,000 deg.C temperature. Furthermore, the abundance ratio of oxygen atoms on the surface of the active carbon fiber for the flue gas desulfurization is <5%.
