PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a disk-like glass and a glass substrate using the same, good in productivity and industrially advantageously, and also to provide an information recording medium using the glass substrate obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the disk-like glass is that at the time of slicing a cylindrical glass structure perpendicularly to its center line, on the position to be sliced, a notch is formed on each surface of outer and inner circumferences, the width of the notch is shorter than the width of the notch. The method of manufacturing the glass substrate is that the sliced surface of the disk-like glass obtained by above method is worked by grinding and lapping. And the information recording medium is formed by forming a recording layer on the glass substrate.
