PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device which can efficiently wipe off and clean the uneven periphery of the outlet of a coater. SOLUTION: The wipe-cleaning device wipes off and cleans the uneven periphery of the outlet of the coater, in which coating liquid is let out from at least one slit on a running web to apply application liquid onto the web. The device is provided with a means capable of movement in relative position in three dimension directions to the coater and a wipe-off unit which is held by the means for movement and brought into contact with the periphery of the coater outlet for cleaning.
