SUBSTANCE: one should use 0.02 ml erythrocytes obtained out of patient's blood to prepare 5%- erythrocytic suspension in saline buffer at ions concentration being equal to that in blood plasma, filtrate erythrocytic suspension through microporous membrane without any environmental impact for 1 min, detect spectrophotometrically hemoglobin quantity both in filtered suspension and in suspension before filtration to calculate erythrocytic deformity value (EDV) by the following formula: EDV = Hb filtrate/Hb 5%-erythrocytic suspension, where Hb filtrate - quantity of hemoglobin in suspension before filtration, and compare the obtained value with that detected for healthy patients.
