PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a displaying device for telop text editing effect with which a telop inputted in a video image and an editing effect given to the telop can be easily confirmed. SOLUTION: An image into which a telop is contained is designated in a start image/time displaying section 14 and a stop image/time displaying section 15, and a desired telop text is inputted into a telop text displaying section 13, thereby giving the telop text to the video image. Effects such as delay, flicker or wiping can be provided to the telop text from an editing effect setting section 1b. The telop text inputted into the video image and the editing effect given thereto can be displayed on a telop text effect displaying section 5 together with the image corresponding to the text and effect. In a figure, while four pieces of telop text are displayed, the other telop texts can be displayed.
