PURPOSE: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor and a method of manufacturing the capacitor, which prevents collector for electrolytic solution evaporated inside a primitive cell from being transmitted and improves the yield. CONSTITUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor has the primitive cell, that is formed by the steps of: forming collector on the surface of a base material; installing electrical insulating gasket film on the surface of the base material so as to adhere the side portion of the collector; forming a polarizable electrode, into which electrolyte solution is impregnated on the surface of the collector; installing two of middle product formed as described and a separator, such that the gasket film contacts the front surface and the rear surface of the circumference of the separator; and performing thermal fusion bonding to the gasket film, such that the gasket film covers the circumference surface of the separator to peel off the base material from the collector and the gasket film, and the base material has transmittance of a predetermined quantity or less with respect to the electrolyte solution which is made to evaporate at a temperature of thermal fusion. |
