PURPOSE: A bracing type steel frame structure is provided to improve the structural efficiency of a brace frame and to easily maintain by applying a slit plate type damper to the brace frame. CONSTITUTION: A structure(50) forms a lattice shaped space by alternatively fixing a pair of first horizontal plates(51H,51L) and a pair of first vertical plates(52R,52L). A damper(53) is located in the space of the structure and has many slits(54) in parallel with the first vertical plates. The one ends of braces(40a,40b) are connected with a pillar and a beam. The other ends of the braces are connected with the structure. Second plates(56R,56L) in parallel with the first vertical plates are fixed in upper and lower faces of the structure. The second vertical plates are connected by second horizontal plates(58H,58L) vertically. Thereby, the vertical load and the horizontal load are separated completely.
