摘要 PURPOSE: An inner shroud assembly for a turbine, segments for the turbine shroud assembly, and an exhaust method of cooling air are provided to cool segments by giving purge air to a gap between internal shrouds and prevent hot gas from being inhaled into the gap. CONSTITUTION: An inner shroud assembly(10) for a turbine comprises plural part-annular segments(22) combined to form an inner, annular shroud adapted to surround rotating components(14) of the turbine. Each segment has a pair of end faces(28) juxtaposed similar to end faces on adjacent segments with gaps therebetween. The inner shroud assembly includes at least one convection cooling hole(36) in the segment, opening along at least one of the pair of end faces. The one cooling hole is opened into a diffuser recess(38) formed in one of the pair of end faces for diffusing the flow of cooling air into the gap.
