PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a brush support mechanism for a rotating electric machine that prevents pressures applied to brushes of the rotating electric machine from being varied. SOLUTION: The brushes 5a, 5b are arranged at the external periphery of a commutator 1 arranged at the circumference of a rotating shaft 6, and pressed to and brought into contact with the commutator 1 at constant pressure by a brush-pressure adjustment mechanism composed of a spring mechanism 2 and a spring-mechanism joining part 4 formed of a material having elasticity. Pressing parts 2a, 2b for pressing the brushes 5a, 5b are formed at one end of the spring mechanism 2. Notches 4a, 4b, to which the spring mechanism 2 is movably joined, are formed at the spring-mechanism joining part 4. Fixing parts 3a, 3b for fixing the brush-pressure adjustment mechanism to the rotating electric machine are formed at the spring mechanism 2 and mounted to the rotating electric machine that is not shown in the figure. The spring mechanism 2 acts so as to press the commutator 1.
