PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high accuracy turning by suppressing deflection of a cross rail member due to the movement of a saddle in the X axis direction. SOLUTION: The free end of the cross rail portion 62 is selectively supported by a stiff horizontal arm 185 which is movably arranged and is provided with an air pad 184 at the tip end thereof. Air pressure applied to the air pad 184 is controlled according to the position of the saddle 90 in the axial direction.
