To lay buried pipes, with an underground pipe driving system (69), a suspension (20) to reduce friction is mixed with the ground spoil, to give a mixture (31) in the ring gap (32) between the ground material (50) and the wall (60) of the laid pipe. The suspension is mixed with the soil, where it is displaced by the driving shield in a mixing zone (70), in a flow (30) through pipe openings. The suspension contains a hardening agent so that, when the pipe in position, it sets and forms a sealing surface around the pipe wall.
