PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-free glass composition having an effect for leading to the improvement of a working environment and easy-to waste disposal because the composition is free from a lead component. SOLUTION: The lead-free glass composition has a following composition indicated in mass % of oxide basis: Bi2 O3 : 5-75%, B2 O3 : 5-35%, ZnO: 9.5-24.5%, SiO2 : 0-20%, Al2 O3 : 0-10%, BaO: 0-35%, CaO: 0-35%, SrO: 0-35%, BaO+CaO +SrO: 4-45%, R2 O: 0-10% (wherein, R2 O is at least one of Li2 O, Na2 O, K2 O, Cs2 O), and is free from PbO.
