The protective cap, especially for painters to cover the hair against paint splashes, is formed from a single section (4) of cardboard and the like. Slits (2) are stamped in it to form tongues (3) to cover the rounded zones. The cardboard has an I-shaped center section to give the middle strap (5) of the upper part of the cap, with lateral bars (6,7) to shape the front and rear of the cap. The side pieces (8,9) at the center section have the tongues for the rounded zones.
