BACTERIUM HAVING FUNCTIONAL SUBSTANCE ON SURFACE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a bacterium having a functional substance on the surface thereof and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This bacterium is obtained by culturing the bacterium in a culture medium containing an N-acetylmuramyluridine diphosphate pentapeptide derivative having the functional substance. The derivative is converted into an N-acetylmuramylpentapeptide derivative and integrated as a part of cell wall components of the bacterium. Thereby, the resultant bacterium has the functional substance on the surface thereof.
