A directional display device is provided to prevent visibility from being deteriorated even when external light is strong. A reflective LC(Liquid Crystal) panel(110) has an LC layer(118) and a light reflecting film(114) disposed in the rear of the LC layer. The reflective LC panel forms plural images by plural pixel dots(124a,124b). A barrier(150) is disposed in the front of the reflective LC panel, and has plural light shielding units(152) and plural apertures(154). In the barrier, each of the apertures is prepared so as for one aperture to be corresponded to n(an integer being no less than two) pixel dots of the reflective LC panel if n images are displayed. In the barrier, each of the light shielding units has a luminescent layer(160) in its rear. The luminescent layer is for illuminating the reflective LC panel.
